Repair boilers 

Plumbing on Taps Gas Safe Registered engineers are fully equipped to investigate the boiler fault as quick as possible. Their vans are stocked with parts to save time which of course keeps our prices low for the customer. If parts need to be replaced the engineer will work out a price and await confirmation before installing the new part.

Boiler maintenance 

Our boiler service takes between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes depending on which boiler and access. It is recommended by manufactures that a boiler service should be carried out every 12 months and is mandatory for extended warranties.

Gas safety inspection

Gas safety inspections can be done at any property, not necessarily a rented property. It is the law for a landlord to have a gas safety inspection every 12 months in any rented property he or she owns. Certificates can now be sent via email directly from the property.

A Plumbing on Tap Gas Safe Register registered engineer will check the following during a Landlord gas safety inspection:

Check appliance for gas tightness. Check standing and working pressure if test points available. Check burner pressure / gas rate against manufacturers data plate. Check for satisfactory provision of all necessary ventilation. Test flue flow to ensure removal of products of combustion.

Check satisfactory operation of all the flame failure devices. Check for physical stability, presence and effectiveness of stability brackets (where appropriate). Investigate any evidence of unsafe operation and report to a responsible person. An appliance can not be deemed as having been checked, until the above has been completed. A tightness test of the full system should be added to the above.

Power flush 

 Plumbing on Tap do not cut any corners on a powerflush! A full day is spent flushing the system and using the best chemicals. We clean through the central heating system pipe work and all central heating radiators at the property. Only one radiator must be taken off the wall in order for the powerflush to take place..

Power flush machine set up so water flows through the radiators and heating pipe work collecting all the iron oxide sludge, before reaching the boiler to minimise debris entering boiler heat exchanger.

Rust remover chemical (normally phosphoric acid based, an ingredient in Cola drinks and why a rusty coin is cleaned by Cola) is added and boiler turned on.

By concentrating flow through individual radiators and vibrating the radiators the rust spots are removed.

One by one radiators, heating coils and all pipe work are power flushed with clean water until water samples show clean and neutral readings.

Small amount of Neutraliser is added to compensate for residual chemical cleaner, then Rust Inhibitor is added and circulated throughout the system.

The Power flush machine is removed and central heating system reinstated. Heating is turned on and the radiators are balanced to optimise system efficiency.
